Friday 5\/23-Monday 5\/26\u00a0\u2013\u00a0No School\u2013Memorial Day Weekend (yes, we still get 23rd off)<\/strong> Lately several students have been coming to school with various items from home\u2013Pokemon cards, crystals, random toys\u2013 and bringing them out and trading them during recess or aftercare. This often leads to items being lost or damaged. We have also seen students (mostly in the younger grades) come with money to purchase something another child has brought..Our school policy is that things from home stay at home<\/strong>\u00a0unless there is a special situation set up by the teacher. We ask that you support us by reminding and talking with your child and if need be checking their backpacks. The only thing our students need at school is a water bottle, a hearty lunch, and items specific to the academic needs of their classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FUN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n CARNIVAL<\/strong>:<\/strong> <\/strong>FRIDAY JUNE 6 -right after graduation around 3pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This year we have a new theme in honor of <\/strong>Miss Barnum\u2013 RENAISSANCE FAIRE! <\/em><\/strong> <\/em>A long standing VCS tradition in celebration of the last day of school. All current, alumni and new families are welcome to join. Renn fair clothing is highly encouraged!!! <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Food, games, cake walk, raffle and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We will be selling tickets for food, games, etc the day of. You can purchase tickets ahead of time or the day of.. One ticket equals $1. Will be offering a bundle of 25 tickets for $20. Each activity\/game, raffle entry and food are 1 ticket each. Please note-No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Cash preferred or scan to pay accepted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Raffle!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We are seeking donations for our raffle. These should be items lying around your house-NOTHING NEWLY PURCHASED. Items should be gently used or new and unwrapped. Popular items from past years have been-Stuffed animals\/squishmellows, puzzles, games, art and crafts supplies, journals\/notebooks, sports gear\/equipment, book sets, musical instruments, boxed activities, backpacks\/purses, and many more items. Please bring to the office labeled \u2018raffle\u2019. PLEASE BRING NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 9am <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n CAKE WALK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We need treats for our cakewalk\u2013gluten free, nut free, dairy free, sugary, all kinds and a good variety welcome! Homemade or store bought. Please send on disposable plates, platters, etc. If possible please label speciality items<\/strong> and bring to the office afternoon of 6\/5 or morning of 6\/6<\/p>\n\n\n\n HELP NEEDED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n We need volunteers for games and food (3-5pm) set up (11ish) and more.
