VCS is Accepting Applications for the 2023-24 SY
VCS is accepting applications for the 2023-24 School years in grades UTK-8th You can find new student applications on our website or pick one up at the office. VCS will reach out to applying families for tours in mid-February.
*NEW* Now accepting applications for The Village Acorns: a play based and outdoor UTK program for children aged 4-5 (turning 5 between September 2, 2023, and April 2, 2024). Our youngest children will be introduced to the Village Charter School philosophy- to educate the whole child physically, emotionally, socially and academically at the child’s developmental and age-appropriate level within an outdoor classroom designed for 4- and 5-year-olds.
“Play is the foundation of learning, creativity, self-expression, and constructive problem-solving. It’s how children wrestle with life to make it meaningful.” Susan Linn, Contemporary American psychiatrist
2023-24 Enrollment for Current Students and Siblings
Current VCS Students and Sibling Letter of Intent forms are due to the office by February 17, 2023 (see attached form or pick one up in the office). Siblings must also complete an application.
The Teachers, Administration and Board will soon be working on classroom configuration for the 2023-2024 school year. Each year we put a tremendous amount of reflection, discussion, and love toward determining what is best for each child’s social, emotional, and academic growth.
Your clarity of commitment to keep your child at the Village Charter School helps us to make the best configuration decision for all our students. Please support us in this process by returning this form no later than Friday, February 17, 2023.
If we do not receive this form by February 17, 2023,
your child’s space will not be held.

Northwest Prep invites you to their Winter Academic Exhibition
on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 6pm at Northwest Prep Charter School. The driving question for this event is: “How Do Society and Water Interact?”
Students have worked in cohorts to develop an understanding about catastrophic water phenomenon and their impacts on the environment. They have collaborated to design fictional lands using their critical and creative thinking as well as research on various elements of world building. Students have created geographic systems, economic systems, governments, laws, religions, lore, art, customs, and more.
To bring these fictional worlds to life, students broke into specialized groups focusing on creating detailed maps and documentaries as well as storylines, scripts, costumes, and sets for short vignettes to be played out on stage.
On Thursday, February 9, 2023, you are cordially invited to immerse yourself in these worlds by watching a production designed, put together, and run by NWP students. Please do not be late, as we will be closing the doors promptly at 6:10pm in order for the students to put on their performances without interruption.
