Good afternoon,
Homework
HW is a double sided paper containing a reading log with prompts and a list of spelling words with a sorting activity. HW folders are due back on Friday with a parent or caregiver signature.
Maker Projects
Maker projects are due back to present in class on September 25th (last Friday of each month). Projects may be digital on certain platforms (like Minecraft) and should be emailed to me at
matt@villagecharterschool.com before the due date.
Library Field Trips
We will be taking the city bus to the library several times this year. Our first trip will be on September 17th. Besides library cards, there is nothing additionally needed for the students to bring
on library days.
Birthday Celebrations
We will celebrate birthdays in class during morning snack time. Your child may bring in a treat to share with the class to celebrate their birthday. All food items need to be cleared by me before you bring them in. We
do have nut allergies so no nuts please.
Ft Ross/Salt Point Camping Field Trip
In the HW folder, I have included an equipment list for the trip. I have also included an application that must be filled out for each student. We will leave the morning of Monday, October 12th and return on the afternoon
of Wednesday, October 14th.

Above we are pictured having a great time designing cut out versions of ourselves with our buddies from Miss Tina’s class. We will continue to collaborate with Miss Tina and her class on Fridays throughout the year.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night is this Wednesday, September 2nd from 5-7pm. Our class meeting will take place from 5:45-6:15pm in my classroom.

We certainly had a great first week of school. Thank you for having your child at school on time, ready for the day with plenty of food for snack/lunch, a full water bottle and ready to learn and have fun. As you can see from the attached self portraits, we have a classroom full of artists!
