Good afternoon,
Once again, thank you for having your children prepared and ready for school everyday with proper clothing and enough food. It is hot this week, so please make sure your child brings a water bottle.
FIELD TRIPS
We are planning on going on some field trips this year, including to the library, the LBC, Sonoma Water and others. In order to go on field trips, every family must return your emergency forms to Carolyn. We have a trip planned tomorrow to ride the city bus and go to the library. Carolyn needs EVERYONE to return the emergency forms immediately. Unfortunately, if Carolyn does not receive everyone’s forms by tomorrow morning, we will have to postpone our library trip.
HOMEWORK
Please remember that the HW folder is due back on the last day of school every week. Today, I am sending home the reading log, this week’s spelling words and September’s Maker Projects. Maker projects are due back to present in class on the last Friday of the month. For September, the due date is September 26th. The reading log and spelling words are due this Friday.
Please let me know if you have any questions that I have not addressed.
Thank you,
Matt

Good afternoon,
We certainly had a great first week of school. Thank you for having your child at school on time, ready for the day with plenty of food for snack/lunch and a full water bottle.
As you can see from the attached photo, we have a classroom full of artists!
Homework
Today, I am sending home their first homework packet. HW will be sent out the first day of the week. HW is a double sided paper containing a reading log with prompts and a list of spelling words with a sorting activity. HW folders are due back on Friday with a parent or adult signature.
Library Field Trips
We will be taking the city bus to the library several times this year. Most of our class took the city bus last year to the NW Branch Library with Ms Barnum, Jessica and myself. Sometimes we will be joined by another class. Taking the bus to the library is a great way to supplement our classroom library and learn more about our community services like buses and libraries. There is nothing additionally needed for the students to bring on library days.
Birthday Celebrations
We will celebrate birthdays in class during morning snack time. Your child may bring in a treat to share with the class to celebrate their birthday. All food items need to be cleared by me before you bring them in. If your child has any allergies that you have not shared with me, please do. Please let me know if you have any questions that I have not addressed.Thank you,Matt
