Silent Auction Preview
Get ready to bid on amazing items at our silent auction. From SF museum tickets to local subscriptions, activities, wine, and dining, there is a lot to be excited about. For example, plan a day in SF with tickets to SF MOMA, de Young/Legion of Honor museums. Take some of your mental load off with a sourdough bread or dessert subscription or plan for every birthday party with a year of toys from the ToyWorks. These are just a few of the items available and every bid helps support Village Charter School! Thank you to all who have donated!
➤ PA UPDATE
Parent Association Meetings
All VCS parents are invited and welcome to attend our PA meetings. Learn about upcoming events and how you can help support our school. PA meetings are the first Thursday at 1pm and the third Monday at 7pm. If you can’t make the meetings, you can catch up with the meeting notes – PA notes are available here.
Upcoming meetings are Monday, Sep. 28 at 7pm at the Collins home, 725 Quietwater Santa Rosa 95404 and Thursday, Oct.1 at 1pm in the VCS Office.
➤ Acorn Class Gear Drive
The Acorns are gearing up for all kinds of weather in their outdoor classroom, and we’d love to give your family’s used and outgrown weather gear another turn around the seasons. We’re collecting:
Rain jackets and rain pants (separates rather than one-piece suits, so the children can manage the bathroom on their own)
Waterproof boots like Crocs or Bogs
Base layers, wool socks, warm hats, and similar
All sizes welcome, including toddler, since we have younger siblings in our midst too, but ideally we’re looking for clothing sizes 3T – 6 ish.
Drop donations in the labeled bin in Miss Jess’ indoor classroom by Friday, September 18, so we’re ready for the coming rain.
Questions? Contact Acorn Class PA Liaison Elisette Weiss at elisette.weiss@gmail.com or 707-486-2150.
➤ Fieldtrip Driver/Chaperone Requirements
We have several field trips in the works and we will need drivers. Please make sure you update your driver’s license and car insurance information on file for being a driver/chaperone ASAP. Check with Emma if you need to know what needs updating. THANK YOU!
If you want to volunteer at VCS in the classroom or on field trips and aren’t fingerprinted yet, you can print the necessary paperwork here.

➤ Free Mental Health Services
Dear Village Community,
I am excited to let you know that Keystone Therapy and Training Services has returned to campus and will continue providing additional social-emotional support for the 2026-27 school year. Keystone is a social and behavioral health services organization providing mental health and wellness services to diverse children, families, and individuals. Keystone’s school-based programming began in 2021 and now serves over 25 schools across Sonoma County. This service is at no cost to families or Village Charter School.
Keystone’s School-Based Mental Health and Wellness Programming includes direct 1:1 support, small support groups, in the moment/drop in support, and classroom education for students in grades TK–12. Within this programming, Keystone providers integrate social–emotional learning, mindfulness, goal setting, and creative therapeutic approaches to help youth navigate emotions, build self-regulation, and strengthen interpersonal skills.
The Keystone Team we will be collaborating with this year includes:
Andrew Lavenson (on site) – Support Specialist and Certified Wellness Coach – will be on site Mondays-Wednesdays providing direct services to students. Andrew was on campus last year and is available for student support as needed.
Emily Qirreh (on site) – Second Year MFT Trainee – will be on-site Mondays and Tuesdays providing direct services to students. Emily will also be returning for her second year at VCS.
Mishale Ballinger – Clinical and Programming Director, LPCC & PPSC. Mishale is the primary liaison for direct services, referral & caseload navigation, and program implementation. She will also be providing clinical oversight and higher-level support to ensure strong programming and coordinated care.
Linked are the forms required for students to sign up for these supports. Please sign and return at your earliest convenience:
📄Consent for School Health & Wellness Services
📄Consentimiento Para Servicios de Salud y Bienestar Escolar
Hard copies are in the office and can be sent home with your child.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
